The tales and anecdotes that form the Paul Bunyan legend are typical of the tradition of frontier tall tales ().Paul and his companions, Babe the Blue Ox and Johnny Inkslinger, are undismayed by rains that last for months, giant mosquitoes, or adverse geography. 17, act 1, scene 1: hello mr inkslinger - bunyans goodnight. giant lumberjack, mythical hero of the lumber camps in the United States, a symbol of bigness, strength, and vitality. Nicholas Broadhurst has worked together with the Brothers Quay to make a staging that looks and feels like a musical without neglecting the work’s many subtleties. The Second Ballad Interlude then tells the story of Pauls marriage to Carrie. It’s developers have already praised the game for it’s greatly improved accessibility thanks to it’s scaled assists, a new tyre model and “unrivalled controller experience”.Īs expected with arcade games, there will be a heavy focus on the singleplayer aspect. Now, you need to tell the Adobe tools about the consent given by the visitor. On the other hand, this can seem very intrusive. Once he accepts, the website can track the first page view as usual, without losing any data. This solution forces the visitor to first interact with your CMP. To avoid this situation, some websites put a blocking modal on the first page of the first visit and, until the visitor does not accept or reject it, the website is not accessible. The consequence is that you will not be allowed to collect valuable data. If you get the mandate to disable everything and your consent modal is barely visible, the user may ignore it. This last point can be very controversial. In other words, what is the minimum set of checkboxes in the CMP that can be enabled by default, when the visitor comes for the very first time to your website. This is also an opportunity to make sure you understand each other. Get approval of the type of information you are capturing from the visitor, including cookies. In this case, your legal team just needs to confirm that they are happy with it or provide some amendments. Usually, CMPs have a default text, which is probably good enough. Get approval of the text that needs to be displayed in the CMP modal. There are 3 important outputs you need from that conversation: Take your time, find alternative explanations in case they do not understand, but make sure they finally get it. I know that very well as my family is full of them. Remember that they are lawyers, not technical people. They will surely have lots of questions and you will probably have to explain them in layman terms, basic things like cookies, 1 st party data and similar concepts. The first thing you need to do is get this team’s attention, which is sometimes difficult, and ask them about what you need to do to be GDPR compliant. For starters, GDPR sets a maximum fine of €20 million or 4% of annual global turnover (whichever is greater) for infringements. Let me reiterate: if you implement consent management without a very clear direction from your legal team, bad things will happen. However, in this case, you should not even breath before you get a written confirmation from your legal department, that it is acceptable what you are going to do. You can, generally speaking, take my post and apply it however it suits you better. In most of my posts, I usually explain technical details, give you my opinion or talk about high level concepts, which apply to digital marketing. I have seen them in my projects with customers, but I do not have any personal preferences. If you need some examples, Evidon, OneTrust and TrustArc offer CMPs. There are a few vendors in the market that offer the full solution and all you have to do is add it to your website and configure it. If you really want to, you can build it yourself, but I would not recommend it. You all have seen it: it is this annoying (but mandatory in some regions) modal that you get when you access a website for the very first time and it requests that you give permission to cookies and tracking.Īs an example, this is the one at : This is the software on the website that shows to the visitors the different options to choose from and stores the decision. The first thing that you need to have, one way or another, is a Consent Management Platform (CMP). This is the first post of a 2-post series, where I will explain how to configure the Adobe Opt-In mechanism. However, with the ECID service, you now have a centralised option to manage all tools. Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target and Adobe Audience Manager had a different way of managing it. Until not that long ago, Adobe tools did not have a satisfactory solution. From being completely ignored to becoming a legal requirement, consent management is now a mandatory part of all website implementations. Looks like you are going to need a dark mode tweak. Every account has the same ad groups: Tall Widgets, Short Widgets, and Wide Widgets. For these campaigns, labels save you a lot of time and headache.įor example, let’s say you have a nationwide, 50 state/50 campaign account. If you find yourself (like I sometimes do) working on AdWords accounts with hundreds of active campaigns, keeping track of what’s happening where can be a pretty daunting task. Here are a few common (or maybe uncommon) ways I’ve used labels for accounts I’ve managed: 1. Use Labels to Group Campaigns So, now that we know how to create and edit labels, let’s talk about… How to Use AdWords Labels Like a Pro Editor can’t create new labels, but you can assign and view existing ones with the Labels button on the bottom menu. Google recently added the ability to edit labels in its offline AdWords Editor software, something that becomes incredibly handy when you’re making bulk changes. In fact, custom color-coded labels can be extremely handy if you find yourself using lots of them-which just might be the case after you finish reading this! Editing Labels in AdWords Editor You can even change the label color if you aren’t happy with the random color Adwords assigns to new labels. You can also select Manage Labels to see a list of all active labels and delete ones that aren’t in use. To make things even easier, AdWords lets you apply multiple labels simultaneously. To create a label, just check one or more of your campaigns, ad groups, or keywords and then click the Labels drop-down and select Create New Or, you can apply an existing label by checking the appropriate box. They’re a great visual reminder for keeping track of all sorts of things, from campaign organization and much more.ĪdWords labels have a lot of potential but, like a post-it note, an AdWords label is only as useful as you make it. So, let’s discuss a few ways to use labels for a more productive AdWords experience. Labels allow you to create color-coded tags in you can view in a column right next to your clicks, impressions and conversions at the Campaign, Ad Group, and, Ad, and Keyword levels. Thankfully, for those of us in the pay per click marketing industry, Google offers its own version of post-it notes for Google AdWords users: Labels! They’re not quite as fun as real life sticky notes, but AdWords labels are incredibly useful nonetheless. There are even apps to simulate post-its on your computer desktop, which clearly shows that my wife and I aren’t the only ones fond of them. You can use them for everything from leaving reminders to writing passive aggressive messages to strangers. I even gave them to her for Christmas as a stocking stuffer…and she thought it was a good gift! And there’s a good reason why: Post-its are awesome. Billed as a New England folk tale, the movie is set in the 17 th century and focuses on a family of religious exiles who begin to suspect their teenage daughter of something unholy after her newborn brother is abducted. A24 is known for some cinematically gorgeous movies, and this gem is no exception. I wasn’t sure what to expect when walking into this movie and I was overjoyed with what I got. This movie is delightfully creepy and has some fantastic jump scares as well as everything else you’d expect from the creator of The Evil Dead. Alison Lohman stars as Christine Brown, the loan officer, and she delivers a powerhouse performance. Drag Me to Hell is the story of a loan officer who evicts an old woman from her home and finds herself of the receiving end of a nasty curse. When this treat was released in 2009, I was more than excited and ran straight to the theater. Just go ahead and add this to your binging rotation. This movie has it all…witches, satanism, devil spawn, etc. The young couple is soon befriended by their eccentric neighbors and when Rosemary becomes pregnant, a sinister conspiracy begins. Young Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow) and her struggling actor husband (John Cassavetes) move into the Bramford, an iconic building in New York that is haunted by unpleasant stories of strange occurrences. How I wish I had discovered it sooner! Rosemary’s Baby is arguably one of director, Roman Polanski’s, best films and stars such favorites as Mia Farrow and Ruth Gordon of Harold and Maude fame (another movie that if you haven’t seen you should stop everything and watch now). The Exorcist was one of them and the other was this classic. I was far into my horror obsession before I allowed myself to watch certain films. It’s great fun and if you’re a fan of ‘70s horror or cult films, this one will fit right in. Of course, those spells backfire and have deadly consequences-didn’t anyone ever tell you that when you cast a love spell on someone else, that spell backfires on you at least seven times over?ĭo yourself a favor and take this one for a spin. The story follows a young woman (Samantha Robinson) who uses spells to get men to fall in love with her. Everything from the storyline to the scenery is faithful to the movies of that decade (think Valley of the Dolls or Stepford Wives). I came across this The Love Witch on Shudder and though it was shot in 2016, it has a perfect ‘70s vibe. Do yourself a favor though and leave the sequels alone. I’m not sure that this movie still stands as frightening as it once was, and found footage movies leave me a little seasick, to be honest, but this is still worth a viewing. The film was one of the first found-footage films and follows a group of college students as they wander into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the Blair Witch, a local legend that has the people of the town wagging their tongues about what may or may not have happened to some of the local missing children. This movie scared the snot out of me, and it was mostly because no one really knew if it was real when it was first released due to some genius marketing. The film has a stellar cast including Fairuza Balk and Neve Campbell and stands up today as a fun, teenage story of witchcraft and friendship and what goes wrong when you marry the two. They soon conjure up various spells and curses against those who are “against” them-including each other. The film is the story of the new girl (Robin Tunney) at a Catholic prep school who joins a trio of outcasts who practice witchcraft. The Craft nails teenage girls…often nasty, hormonal, and a little scary. Who doesn’t love this movie? I have no idea how many times I’ve seen it, but it is one of those that stops me in my tracks and sucks me into the couch every time it is on. Maybe there are a couple that you haven’t seen yet and, in that case, you should take the time to check them out. Of course, I have my favorites which I’ll share with you below. Growing up didn’t change my fascination with witches and I’ve devoured all types of witch-centric television shows and movies. I grew up on the actual “ Hansel and Gretel” stories from the Brothers Grimm and knew exactly what happened to little children who took candy from strangers. Since I was a child, I was both fascinated and terrified by witches. Mozilla Firefox ESR, Portable Edition is available for immediate download from the Mozilla Firefox ESR, Portable Edition homepage.
